    feedback on accessibility and usability

    Hi everyone,
Webnauts pointed me to this thread about accessibility. I just finished a site that I made for a motel, I would liek some feedback on the accessibility and usability of the site.
This is the 2nd site I've made that I have tired to focus on the accessibility and usability
    the URL is http://hirenpatel.com/bw/

the first site I made was
    http://www.bakersfieldhindutemple.com

I'm still learning a lot about making sites more usable so any feedback on the site would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Maybe its your intention but you should provide a feeback form in the contact section, not everyone has access to email. Another thing I'd recommend is having the active link highlighted in some way when a user is on that page.

I have checked only this page: http://hirenpatel.com/bw/

    1. You have a code syntax error at line 27: The end tag for "td" was found, but "td" was never opened, has been ended too many times, or cannot have an end tag.

    2. Code syntax warning for lines 27 and 30: For backward compatibility with HTML, use a space character before the '/' character.

    3. The only accessibility issue I found with "Bobby" was that you did not identify the language of the text.

To fix that replace your 3rd line: <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
    with this: <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en">

When done you page will validate the W3C/WAI AAA, which this is the major accessibility level.

The above are the first steps, before we check the other pages.

    Your page passed!!!!

Now page: http://hirenpatel.com/bw/general.html you have the following errors:

Line 27 and 37: The attribute value "photo" for the "class" attribute was not enclosed in single or double quotation marks when it must be. In HTML 4.01, attribute values containing characters other than A-Z, a-z, 0-9, hyphens, periods, underscores, and colons must be quoted. In XHTML/XML, all attribute values must be quoted. Quotes are recommended even if they are not required.

If above corrected, then this page have passed too!

just a reminder: site and site element reviews need to be posted in the appropriate fora http://www.sitepointforums.com/forum...php?forumid=90
in my view this thread does not completely breach the guidelines just yet (although i admit i haven't read every single post), but just so people know...

    Edit:

    thread split and locked, btw
