Since yesterday, I've Odigo installed. You can connect with it to ICQ, AIM and Yahoo Messenger. And even better, you can see the people who are browsing the same webpage as you (they do need to have Odigo installed, though), so you could use this tool to give real on-site support

PS: I still need to test this program thoroughly, but my impression so far is positive

Sorry to sound the pessimist Elledan, but I always think the worst of "snoopware", which this program sounds like.

    IMHO, Odigo really, really sucks...

Indeed, when you have it installed at first, it rocks very hard, and you tell all your friends and buddies it is so fantastic. Until you meet the downsides:

    - odd database handling (i don't know how you guys go about it, but i often update my contact lists because of the vital importance)

    - because of melting stuff into one program, many program-specific features disappear.

    - i'm not too fond of the childish layout, but that's just a matter of taste i think

    AHH!

    I HATE it!

It gives these very weird errors in AIM..it takes long to connect too.

    I'd never use it again!

I downloaded it to, the old one didnt fit on the screen as nicely, it wasnt as compact as aim, and you did lose a lot of features which are vital, i ended up disconecting and reconecting to send a file. Its also not as comfy, and the design is really childish, but thats a matter of opinion, not that i like it.

Hmm... I must agree with you guys. I've been using Odigo for a few days now and it can't even connect to ICQ now...

Ah well, ICQ runs just fine on my PC

I like odigo because i can talk to icq people (i hate the icq interface) and yahoo people wihtout downloading the respective programs. It will be great once it includes all the different programs. Of courus the ideal, would just to have one solution, and one program, that everyone uses.

its annoying though, cause it has trouble connecting sometimes...over all i like it though.

Like others have mentioned, I am not a fan of "wasting" system resources either. If you think of all the extra cycles a processor has to do to run that ugly UI, when a simple mIRC like interface would do just fine

I've not used Odigo yet because of the variety of opinions I've heard about it - I'm quite happy now running ICQ on the right-hand side of my window and AIm in the taskbar. I can't think of anyone I need to talk to who doesn't have or can't access either of those two programs - while it would be nice to have something like Odigo but better, for now at least I'll be sticking to AIM/ICQ.

I used Odigo when version 2.5 was out, and, like Elledan, loved it when I first started using it, but learned to hate it after a while. A lot of features of the specific programs weren't support in Odigo (like ICQ file-transfer), and you were always having to download patches. So until they come up with a good working version I'm sticking to having AIM and ICQ open at the same time.

Hmm... it sorta works now... it's connected to ICQ, but nobody sends me messages except Saltire

I think that I'll wait till version 5.0 of Odigo, or move to a better one

WAY TOO SLOW. It was cool at first, but the fact that half the time you can't log on, and it kicks you off every couple minutes, it is no fun. Not cool. Good idea though.

Yeah, I've had it with Multi-IM programs...

I'm now using LICQ under Linux (Mandrake) and I like it even more than ICQ

odigo is great if your going to be on for a few hours but if your just on for a second because your friends house is engaged so you know he is on the internet you can get at him quicker and if you think about it you could stick gooey in that list of aims because thats what it does and if you get it off your isp you can see who is on-line with your isp which is pretty handy i have met ppl through it that know me from school or whatever
