    Dreamweaver MX 2004!

Just got a note in my e-mail saying that DWMX 2004 will be coming out soon! I can't wait.

http://www.macromedia.com/software/dreamweaver/ has more info. It looks really cool.

While I'm excited, doesn't this seem like the ol' upgrade treadmill all over again? Didn't seem that long ago they were releasing MX...

The increased CSS support is a godsend though, not to mention that the upgrade price is very reasonable if you already have Studio MX. Those who don't use CSS in their coding because "We're a Dreamweaver shop" have less of an excuse after this is released.

I don't think the better CSS support goes far enough, but we shall see I guess.

Yeah, I've been holding out for a while, but I might just have to upgrade this time. Wonder if the CSS support comes close to something like TopStyle Pro.

    Hello,

If I used Macromedia Dreamweaver for my coding, I'd be really excited. But I use Microsoft FrontPage.*

*And yes, I do write my own code!

went to flash, and mx 2004 for flash as well, fireworks too... so I imagine all MX... but really, MX was released fairly recently, isn't it a bit soon for the upgrade?

MX was released last Spring. New versions every 1-2 years is pretty common for software (Windows, Office, Photoshop, etc.). Besides, with the ever-changing nature of the Web I would expect Macromedia to update their software accordingly.

Right, I guess... heh and of course it is always nice to have constantly updated software -- just not nice to have to pay for them. lol

macromedia updates its product line every 18 months (for the major products). looks like i'll be upgrading to mx2004 professional. although i'm just a little disappointed they divided flash into flashmx 2004 and flashmx professional 2004 and the implementation of actionscript 2.0...but this is a dreamweaver topic so i'll save flash talk for a flash topic

I've been using MX for over a year now (since the Preview release). I can't wait until 2004; its extended CSS support may get me off of using 2 editors for my Web work (TopStyle and DW).

I'm a bit excited about this new release as well.. I don't use anything but DWMX and the new version looks really interesting. The CSS support will make my workflow much more efficient and the quick graphic editor should be really helpful for quick resizing and trimming.

Let's just hope the other bugs are ironed out as well...
