This is the first time I will be venturing into data bases.

I want to set up a small data base, nothing to big. I guess I want to ask.
    1. Do service providers have problems with hosting data bases.
    2. What data bases would be the easiest to set up and learn.
    3. What cgi methods work best with communicating with data bases. (example. perl, c++, ...)

    Thanks in advance

Most hosts now support some kind of database system. One of the most popular of these is MySQL. As long as the host provides that then setting up a DB is relatively easy.

    2. What data bases would be the easiest to set up and learn.

I think MySQL is the best option for you - as it is free most hosts support it and its also relatively easy to connect to it using Server-Side Languages

    3. What cgi methods work best with communicating with data bases. (example. perl, c++, ...)

PHP is probably the best language to connect to MySQL - there is a good tutorial on using php and mySQL to build a db-driven site here: http://www.webmasterbase.com/article.php?aid=228

    Thanks in advance
    No Problem

Most hosts will not have a problem with this. Databases have become prevalent on the Internet.
    2. What data bases would be the easiest to set up and learn.
MySQL on Linux/Unix or Access on NT.
    Check out these two articles:

PHP, ASP and Cold Fusion are the best and easiest ways to connect with Databases over the Web.

In the future please don't cross-post. Pick the best forum for your topic. The duplicate in Beginner's Corner has been deleted
