    Isn't it nice? I can't wait!

I'll probably have to put it to the side of my desk though..so it'll fit

Not bad for the price. Still, I think Sony has far better monitors. Of course, I'd have to see that monitor myself...but I'm sure Sony has higher quality.

    That's an amazing price though.

NOPE! I checked the Sony's. I compared them right next to eachother, at two stores! The Sony's vision is way more dull then the NEC

I don't have a clue how you came to that conclusion. Sony is probably the best monitor maker. What did you see? A monitor from 1992?

Not every sony monitor is the best ever made. Sony HAS made some duds. For example, a quick search at CNET shows that Sony monitors are "second-best" and some other CRTs have better quality. (If you look at the top 5 monitors, only 1 is Sony.) It's really whatever looks the best for you. That being said, I have 2 SONYs and love them!

I'm looking around for a 19" monitor as well - that NEC looks good so I might buy one

Looks nice... although, if I was going to buy a new monitor, I'd shoot for a flat one. Aren't those cool?

It is a flat screen..but the monitor isn't flat like a pancake.

I was going to buy a 15" flat pancake monitor, but it was $700..way too much

I think Belinea monitors are tops, I have a 17" with a Diamondtron tube and it is really good. Especially seen as I paid 230 for it over a year ago (Which was a really good price at the time in the UK).

That's really nice, but I have to agree that Sony makes the best monitors on the market at the moment. I own two 17" Trinitron monitors, and they are the best I've ever used or seen. I'm sure NEC makes good monitors though. Tell us how it works when you get it...

Ah you see with Belinea monitors (well with mine) the tube is a Diamondtron which is a suped up version of the Sony Trinitron tube. So it has excellant clarity and sharpness all round. The rest of the monitor is pretty top notch too because they are German engineered.
