There's not enough reputation in the world to let you know how much that will help. Thanks!![]()
You're quite welcome. I'm sure you're really enjoy the article I'm writing on Javascript scope for Sitepoint =)
I just gotta find the time to finish the SOB.
I'm sure I will. I didn't even know you could pass anything besides a string into setTimeout. You have opened my eyes!![]()

Bettle enlightening us again, and again! I gonna have to rethink my feelings towards texans JK! Thanks for the interesting info bettle I look forward to your article! Please post link when you finish that SOB!
Great work, Beetle!
Although I have encountered most of the tips you list before, either strewn around the 'net or having "discovered" them for myself, I have never come across a good article featuring them, so unfortunately they are not as public knowledge as they should be.
While posting on them on the forums certainly does increase circulation, you could easily turn your post into an article for mass consumption on SitePoint! (I keep meaning to do something myself for VBScript/ASP but never seem to get round to it.)
I just think it's a shame that all the great tips and cunning code contained within these (and other) forums doesn't tend to see the light of day, so I would like to see more content from within reposted outside for the entire web community to benefit from.

Excellent stuff, beetle.
I'm a little confoozd. The last post in the linked thread* appears to have been made roughly six weeks ago.Originally Posted by beetle

Am I missing something or is your 'this thread' link not pointing in the right direction?
(I'm keen to see what other javascript goodness you've got covered)
p.s. It's not a cache issue, at least, not one to do with my browser/machine.

Bill, I think he just edited his post to add some new stuff..
So he did.
I thought I'd already checked the 'last edited' stamps to see if that was the case.
Obviously not a day for me to be proof-reading anything.![]()

I'm intrigued to know why two people have given me negative rep for my post above, with identical comments (i.e. "New tips!") only 5 minutes apart... either that or it was the same person twice, which isn't supposed to be possible...
And how do you see how many points each +/- rep was worth?

Anyway, I don't want to clog up this thread with any more off-topic discussion on this matter, so please direct any response/solution to PM again!
