    Zeldman CSS *thing*

    Hi guys:

    I'm nearly finished with Zeldmans book and have seen the following CSS hack/examples there and elsewhere and wondered if anyone can proffer some definitions as to what they are:

    Code:
    #preamble {
     margin-left: 233px;
     background: #f90 url(bg_preamble.gif) no-repeat top right;
     color: #fff;
     border-right: 2px solid #fff;
     padding-bottom: 16px;
     width: 502px;  /* False value for IE4-5.x/Win */
     voice-family: "\"}\"";
     voice-family:inherit;
     width: 500px; /* Actual value for conformant browsers */
     }
    html>#preamble {
     width: 500px; /* Be nice to Opera */
     }
    Specifically, what's the story with the html> and the voice-family: "\"}\""; selectors?

    Cheers

    I was going thru the Eric Meyer on CSS book too and saw that bit.

    He has an explanation here http://www.ericmeyeroncss.com/bonus/trick-hide.html under the heading 'The voice-family Hack'.

    It's also known as the "Box Model Hack". More info here:
