Ordering FORM elements?

Hi

Not sure if this is a javascript solution or not so mods please feel free to move this post if it's in the wrong forum

I have a form on my site with the elements in 2 columns. Is there anyway to specify the order of the elements when tabbing through them? At the moment, the tab function moves the focus from left to right and I need it top to bottom.

yes - add the tabindex attribute to each one, starting with 1 and working up

<input type="text" name="whatever" tabindex="1" />
