Pop up window that must be used ?

    Hi,

Just wondering if anyone know how it is possible to have a pop up come up on a site that has to be used ?

I want to have a user option that they must select come up on a pop-up. I dont want them to have the option of browseing the site while this is in the bg. I wanna make it so that they must fill out the options before going any further.

Anyone got a link for this or whatever ?

    Thanks

I don't think thats possible, you would be stealing focus and that is a securty issue. The same effect could easily be accomplished with some server side code.

Another point is that I have pop-ups shut off, so can I browse your site with out the popups? I can also disable JavaScript altogether..

you can use showModelessDialog or showModalDialog but those are for your IE users only.

From several standpoints, however, this is a no-no. What exactly are you trying to accomplish? Perhaps it can be done another way?
