    Which three column method?

I have been doing a CSS redesign of our site, and to accomplish the three column layout (or in some areas two columns) I am using a wrapper div and inside three div's all with float:left. Here is an example page:

    http://www.jnewswire.com/test/about.asp

This causes the columns to all line up side by side.

However, as I was reading the latest SitePoint newsletter, Kevin suggested going with a different method, ultimately using javascript to synchronize the heights of the three columns:

I was just wondering which is the more reliable method - which method will work more consistently across a broad range of browsers? Or are both perfectly acceptable solutions?

    Thanks

Well, once JavaScript is disabled the JavaScript method then becomes less robust and the columns no longer stretch the same.
