Hiding IE Statusbar

I want my page to automatically hide the IE statusbar (same as going View>Statusbar) automatically.

How do i do this?

Unfortunately it can't be done to an existing window.
The hide/show condition of the statusbar can only be specified during the creation of a new javascript window (window.open).
