    File Maker Pro??

Has anyone used File Maker Pro, someone recomended it to me for database solutions. Why not just use MySql. So is File Maker Pro hard to lear. what scripting language do you use with it? Is it for making only databases then you have to know a scripting language to pull info out of that databes. Like php or something?

Does it work like PHP and mySql work together. ?

I have to deal with it a bit at work. Basically, it is a desktop database system akin to access. Overall pretty decent except it lacks the flexibility of access and uses its own funky scripting language.

I spent a few years doing FileMaker development. It's great for very simple desktop apps, but in my opinion not a good choice for anything more powerful than a rolodex or anything that needs to be on the web. It can do more powerful, and it can do the web, but... ugh. If you know little or nothing about databases and scripting, then FileMaker might be a decent place to start. Otherwise go with something on the level of PHP and MySQL.
