    Can you use server side includes?

    If so then:

    <!--#config timefmt="%B %d, %Y"--><!--#echo var="DATE_LOCAL"-->

    Any kind of code?

    Do you mean your server can run ASP, Perl, CFM, PHP, and Python scripts?

    Really, you need to know whether or not your host supports SSI. If you are paying your host, you most likely have SSI support, as well as one or two of the above.

    I host sparkele on my server, and yes, he has SSI, PHP, Perl, etc. support.

    Also, I can give you (sparkele) a date script if the above doesn't work. Just let me know, it's a JavaScript.

    Will that work on NT/W2K servers?

    If you have SSI enabled, that should work on all servers, You just need to find out whether you have SSI

    I thought the 'echo' command was something used in Perl / Unix.

    Almost every server has SSI (except most free servers). SSI has become one of the most adaptable and easy-to-impliment languages. The SSI script should work.

    If not, Date() functions in JavaScript and VBScript are a SNAP.

    echo is used in PHP and SSI on any server that has those installed.

    Dreuby,

    Well, I may have sounded a bit...well, conceited when I said that. JavaScript is definately no the easiest language to learn..I can guaruntee it. If you want a link to help you learn it, I'd try Earthweb.com's JavaScript Primers, by Joe Burns, PhD. This link taught me everything I know about JavaScript, for free! I believe it certainly could help you. Check it out here.

    Hope this helped!

    D,

    I'd say 6 month, maximum, if you're committed to your studies..Good idea to be humble, though (I'm still workin' on that one).
