    Internal Server Error(500)

    Hi,

I am new in ASP classic. Currently move the old applications from old server(window 2003 R2) to testing server(window 7)
I changed the connection string of database to 'localhost' instead of the server name.
And when i try to log in to the web page,it gives me the error below ,kindly advise what is the problem? I am not sure is coding issue or connection string issue
    Thanks in advance!

You need to configure the server (IIS7 ?) to show meaningful messages. Once that is done then the real error message should be indicated, and should help you track down the cause.

without seeing the whole connection string in use it's difficult to know where the problem lies. There could be any number of syntax issues.

This may also be a better question for the database forum as opposed to the classic ASP forum.

well, i had this occuring on a Classic ASP application running in a subfolder of a site. The solution was:

IIS > Click into your Site > Click into your Application folder > Error Pages > Edit Feature Settings > set to: Detailed Errors
