Which pen drive is good to store excess data?

    Hello Everybody,
Any idea regarding pen drive. Which brand is good. In 16 GB or 32 GM size which pen drive brand is good. Is it compulsory to scan pen drive if we are inserting again and again in personal computer or any where else.

    Thanks

I have a number of Kingston drives which have always performed well.

If you're using the drive on more than one computer then yes, I would say you should always scan it to avoid accidentally transferring virus- or malware-infected files.

I run Linux off of one of these for a computer I use to stream movies.

It's worked well for about 8 months now.

I use a WD 500GB external drive. Nothing fancy, but it works. I would like to upgrade to a USB3 drive, but if it isn't broke why change.

+1! I just bought a 32GB Kingston drive, and it performs way better than my previous thumb drive (which was stolen by our ghost cat). I was able to copy my entire music collection to it, then to my laptop, in around 5 minutes. The only thumb drive took at least an hour.

Is the new Kingston a USB3 drive? 5 minutes sounds great compared to an hour! Do you know the model number?

As the OP hasn't returned, I think we can assume they've made a decision by now. Thread closed.
