Hello courtspaw, and welcome to SitePoint forums

There's really no foolproof way to protect your images. You could technically use a no-right-click script such as the ones at javascripts.com, however, many people make abundant use of their right mouse button, simply to navigate your site, and disabling that function is liable to cause them a lot of frustration.

In any case, if you do use a no-right-click script, your visitor can still get your image by holding down certain keys to make the warning disappear, and then they're free to get the graphic. They can also simply type in the image's filename in the address bar and it will display freely for them to grab. There really is no true script that will prevent others from snatching your graphics, but alternately, you could visit Digimarc at http://www.digimarc.com to sign up for a (free) watermarking system which has some degree of protection for your pictures.

Digimarc will display a copyright symbol on any of your graphics that are stolen, and opened up in a graphics editor such as Photoshop. Nevertheless, if someone has at least an adequate amount of graphics experience, they can still remake your image to appear like it is their own.

Your best bet would be to watermark your images, instead of installing a right-clickless script. It is technically harder to revise a watermarked image.

    Hope this helps

Just in case you're still looking for a no right click script that specifically targets images: http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex9/noright2.htm
