    OK in photoshop

Create a new RGB image of 200x200 pixels of 72 DPI

copy the baby gif picture into this new canvas

create a new layer about the picture

fill the new layer with a blue colour RGB: 0,176,234

change the blue filled layer type to Hue (near the opacity in the layer palette)

click on the baby picture layer

Image>Adjust>Levels (or Ctrl-L for windows, and CMD-L for mac?)

in the Levels, change the input level to : 0, 0.35, 255
this makes the baby picture more vivid.

Hi zulu! sorry it took me so long to respond to this post... i have not been able to...

anyway, thank you a lot for your help with my problem... but, i can't seem to get it to work..

I can't really copy and paste the original gif like you said... but i was able to drag the only layer in the original image into the new on that i made and then merged those into one layer.. the same effect maybe..?

and... then i followed the rest of your directions, but it would not work for me. sorry, maybe you could tell me waht i'm doing wrong?

    Marc,

I could have sworn I saw a 'Tint' function in PSP under the Effects/Filters sections - have a good look through or consult the Help section and see what it says.
My 2 Cents (or is that 2.2 Cents including GST?)

~ Marc ~ SitePoint's WebmasterBase has PhotoShop Viewlet Tutorials and there is one that may just help you out!

How to Adjust Color in Photoshop"
Learn how to Add Color to a Grayscale Image in Photoshop (Windows). Select Image-Mode-RGB Color from the drop down menu to accept color. Then, in the Hue/Saturation dialog window, select Colorize, modify options, and apply to image.

"WebmasterBase" has many PhotoShop Tutorials for other effects that you may need, plus tutorials for various web and graphic programs...

p.s. The one about color is about 14 clicks down the page

Hey, i tried to look for a tint fuction in psp 7.... i coudldnt find one... under the colors>adjust menu there is an adjust RGB colors... that would however change the color of the whole picture... background included. i think i want the baby to change and keep the rest of the background white.
now i'll go look for some tuts.. and try that one webkat reccomended.
