Redemption is drinking Coffee, because like the other coffee drinkers, he has two e's in his moniker.

Could be... but remember my full username is "Devilware.net" - with 3 E's Although I did notice he edited the .net out (maybe he prefers PHP!).

You probably shouldn't have included the word logic as the answer couldn't be more illogical than that.

I hope I can intrude this silly logic talk for a logical riddle.

A room with a closed door. 3 bulbs inside the room. 3 switches outside the room. You are outside. How do you find out which switch correspond to which bulb if once you open the door you can't move the switches anymore?

    and bonus (harder):
you have 2 ropes and one lighter. Each rope burns (irregularly) in one hour from side to side. How can you calculate 45 minutes (no watch, no sun, just these tools).

    DH

PS: If this is inapropriate my apologies, I'll try to guess the next riddle and skip my righteous turn. Otherwise let me know and I'll remove this post.

I think you could solve this using the temperature of the bulb.
Bulbs get hot after a while, I had to change one last night
So if you would turn on 1 bulb and then wait for 15 minutes or so and then turn on another switch and then walk into the room you would just have to feel which bulb is the hottest.

I haven't figured this one out yet. The word 'irregularly' makes it kind of difficult

Fold one rope in half, then half again. Lay it out alongside the other and light the other from the other end. When it reaches the tip of the other rope, that is 45 minutes (assuming both ropes are same length).

No, that works only if the rope would burn regularly. The riddle would be very easy then.

Ok this has been driving me insane, but I think I have found a solution!

The only way you can can calculate less than 60 minutes is if you burn the ropes at both ends.

My theory is the following :

Let one rope burn for 30 minutes exactly. The only way to do that is by lighting the rope on both ends at the same time.
Even though it burns irregularly you cut the burn time exactly in half, from 60 minutes to 30 minutes.
At the same time you light rope 2 on one end only.

After 30 minutes rope 1 will be burnt completely, then you light rope 2 at the other end as well.
By doing this you cut the remaining burn time in half. From 30 minutes to 15 minutes!

When rope 2 is fully burnt a total of 45 minutes have passed

I hope this is the answer, it makes sense to me

only jamesbond, correct for both! very impressive.

EDIT: For the first, to avoid burning your hands, I'd switch one of the two off before going in (a bulb gets slightly hot in 10 seconds), just a suggestion for you next bulb job
