    Talking Characters for WebSites

Oddcast.com http://www.oddcast.com is selling interactive animated characters for websites.

We're running one of their cool flash ads at http://www.webadvantage.net/tip.cfm

(I just want to share their technology, not meant to be an ad)

Has anyone tried something like this for community stickiness? Customer Relations?

$16 per month is not cheap, nor is it expensive for such a cool tool.

    Thanks,
    Loren

Its not a good idea, its annoying and it doesn't really look professional at all. It is actually childish in my views. When customers want support they want to be talked to as a person, and they themselves want to talk to a human that has a sence of decision, thinking, emotion, expression. I actually think it would lure customers and potential customers away rather than bring them in.

Its worth a try, but not a good idea.

Sorry, but after hearing the voice of that woman on the first page, I managed to get back onto my seat to quickly leave...............
"If something is too hard, give it up. The moral my boy is too never try anything"
    "Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand"

I saw this from their ad at CoolHomePages. I liked it. I think it has merit, in the right context and to the right target market. eg this would be crap on a lawyers web site but great on a site for teens to buy and download ringtones. I think the price is good too.

hey she can even look liek this ( .)(. ) haha but my opinion is : it would maybe be fun for teenagers and stuff , but not for business people,so i would suggest to only use them if you need to range a younger theme!
