    Question install MySQL on Windows XP Pro

    ok I have the "Build Your Own Database...." book by Kevin and I am trying to install MySql. I am running Windows XP Pro. I copied and renamed the my.cnf file to C: (my harddrive) and changed the two lines to read:

    basedir = c:/mysql/
    datadir = c:/mysql/data

    Know I opened the Command Prompt and it says:
    C:\Documents and Settings\Ryan>

    so I type:

    c:\mysql\bin>mysqld-nt --install

    like the book says. So it reads:

    C:\Documents and Settings\Ryan>c:\mysql\bin>mysqld-nt --install

    and I get the following error:

    'c:\mysql\bin' is not recognized as an internal or external command,operable program or batch file

    What stupid little thing did I do wrong or miss? Thanks for your help!

    cd \mysql\bin
    mysql-nt --install
