I use software called `Audio Catalyst` with the frauhofer codec. For shareware, visit http://software.mp3.com/software/fea...ndows/rippers/
hope that helps![]()
Search CD copy on download.com or tucows. Very cool program that can go cd to wav, cd to mp3, wav to mp3, mp3 to wav...

This is the one I use and I think it's excellent, particularly for a free program. There is a paid version with loads of extras but I haven't tried that one. Is that the one you are on about Anthony? Only with the version I downloaded, I've now transferred 23 albums to my HD and it hasn't asked me to register once.

Don't mind me, I'm having a BLONDE moment!
I use EAC with the LAME codec. Seems to work quite well.
You can also try CDEX, a free, Open Source ripper that's rather good.
This is what I use. You get some very high-quality variable bitrate MP3s from this oneOriginally Posted by hillsy

If you open an audiocd in Konqueror you can drag and drop the tracks as mp3 or ogg-vorbis. Who said Linux was not user friendly?

Is he really interested 3 years later? ROFLAO, this is a reeeeeaaaaaally old post...

Its not always about helping someone out there-and-then, but it does help when someone is searching and finds a post that just happens to be old (throw in some up-to-date information).
