    When should I work with XML?

    Hello,

    I would like to start with a dummie question: when should I work with XML? Lets take this project as an example: I'm developing a news system, wich will be used by a simple web site. Which one should I choose: XML or SGDBs (e.g. MySQL, MS Access, PostgreSQL, ...)? What are the pros and cons of each solution, and Why?

    Thank you, Athens.

    I'd use database for storage and searching and then use XML (RSS) for distribution of your news; making it available for all to use.

    Ie you'd query your database for example for the last 15 records added and from this data create your RSS XML file from the records pulled.

    Look at this link for more on RSS;
