    Hi,

Yeah I saw that link posted on surfstaion.il yesterday and couldn't believe how funny some of these were. I spent about 30 mins reading them and then relised that I was only about 1/4 of the way down. That thread has gone in my favourites though

    One of my favourites was:

    Originially found at http://www.dreamless.org/ubb/Forum1/HTML/001318.html
Client: Do you really think people will pay you more than $500 for website?? I can get one from IBM for $499, I saw it on the commercial...

me: Be my guest, but when you come back I'm going to be doubling our fee.

Client: (gave me the finger and left)

    me: Opps!

Boss: That probably wasn't the best way to say that.
    and

    Originially found at http://www.dreamless.org/ubb/Forum1/HTML/001318.html
    "Can't
    we make the text blink?"
    <blink>argghh!</blink>
and of cource how could you forget.

"We want a ten thousand item database with pictures of every item, and we can't afford to hire somebody to do the data entry, so we want you to do it. We've budgeted $1500. Why are you laughing at me?"

btw: I think this thread is more suitable for the general forums

This is only loosely related, but we do a braod variety on computer/technology work. For one of our clients, who also is our next-door-neighbor in the office complex, we've built and installed some PCs, hooked them up with Internet access and e-mail and designed their site.

So one day one of the owners comes over and says "When I try to get into my e-mail, it pulls up my web site."

I of course am thouroughly confused. "What?"

"When I type in my user name, it pulls up my web site."

"Where are you typing? Come show me."

Take him into my office and let him click away on my computer. He hits the IE icon and opens up Explorer. I think he is going to the ISP's e-mail site to pull it from there, but no, he is typing his e-mail address (bob@hisdomainname.com) into the IE address line, like a url, and sure enough, his website pulls up. It took everything in me not to bust out laughing. He had e-mail through another provider before we set him up with his current one, but maintained it never worked. Now I understand why!

I had a client who couldn't get his PC to turn on. I drove out to his office, and he hadn't plugged it in. Duh.

How about the clients who call up and say their whole network is down and they want us to come out and look at it ASAP. THEN they tell us the electricity in their building is out. Hmmmm. Maybe these are related?!?

    Nahhhh, must be the network!

I think everyone has had EVERY client ask for something that's almost unbelieveable. I've curretnly got one now that took some digital photos and wanted to get together this long weekend to bring over the camera, cables, and software so I can get the pictures.

I told them, "Or you could download them and email them to me?" They thought that was a good idea.
