How to Enable imagegd Support in PHP?

I've read over the documentation on php.net, but still can't get this figured out. I'm using PHP 4.3.2 and all I need to do is enable imagegd in order to setup eZ publish 3. I searched the php.ini file for "imagegd" but found nothing, the php_gd2.dll is present, though.

Would someone PLEASE help me with this.

I am not a windows guy, but did you uncomment
;extension=php_gd2.dll
in your php.ini?

Actually, no I didn't.

I have now uncommented it, but eZ publish still isn't recognizing it, for some reason.

It says I need to recompile PHP with support for it. Any ideas?
