I have a website which earns me about $0.60 per visitor. The site traffic is currently about 100 per day but I want to ramp that up considerably.

There seems to be so many different options out there nowadays that I don't know where to start.

    Currently, my traffic comes from:

    1. Looksmart express submission

    2. Yahoo Biz Express submission

    3. Goto & epilot pay per click

    4. Referrals from a banner on one of my other websites

    5. Forums posts (using a signature tagline)

Bearing in mind what each visitor is worth to me, what recommendations can you give of buying more traffic? I don't want to spend more than $0.60 per visitor as I would make a loss.

    Any ideas? Any scalable solutions?

Suggest you employ a good pay-per-click search engine optimization consultant firm. They usually can earn targeted visitors to you around $0.15-0.25 per visitor. A recommendation is
    webgenius

Try it. Even though it is 0.25 per visitor, you still make 0.35 per visitor. Not bad!

What has led to $0.60 per visitor is the fact that I make a change to the website each week and monitor the results.

Every weekly test I do gets the important stats monitored and compared to previous tests. This way, over time I am able to slowly ramp up the visitor value.

I have made changes that "common sense" tells you should improve your visitor value, but in actual fact have halved the value!

However, despite this, I need to know where I can buy sufficient quantities of targetted traffic.

    Any ideas?

    Warmest regards,

Take the fact that many sites are lucky to get $2 CPM... that's per 1,000 visitors and you claim to be getting over a quarter of that per 1 visitor...

    Am I missing something here?

Surely the $2cpm is for just a banner. They still have the visitor to their site and they can have multiple banners per page and still engage them in the sites sales process.

Am I getting the wrong end of the stick?

He never said that he drew all of his money from Advertising Revenues. On the website in his profile he is selling a product that costs $97.00.

Now if this the website in question and it currently receives highly targetted visitors than the money could be made entirely on this product. In Fact there are no ads on the site at all.

Now my numbers are quick and probably not correct but they prove the plausability of making the amount he states.

    I took:

3000 visitors per month (from his first post).
$24.25 The commission of his product.

    60% (.60) of 3000 is 1800.
    $24.25 * 1800 is $43650.00
At full price it comes out to 450 books sold per month.

Of course there are a lot of other factors involved like first and second tier affiliations, marketing costs, business costs but it shows that it is possible. With highly targetted traffic, getting 1 out of 6 visitors to purchase is not that difficult, especially if they are already willing to buy. You also have to remember that he didn't say Profits .60 cents per visitor per month just that he made .60 cents.

    My calculations are as follows:

Its my product so I get about $95 per sale.

I get about 1 sale in 160 visitors, so that's about $0.60 per visitor.

That is not profit as you rightly point out. I need to factor in the cost of the lead acquisition.

The fixed monthly costs will be neglible relative to my (hoped for) sales volume.

I but need to buy lots of targetted traffic otherwise I will never make a lot of money from the site! I just don't know where to buy it.

I would search these forums for posts on Goto.com. You can also read the articles at Promotionbase.com to help out. You don't necessarily have to buy traffic but you do have to work for it.

Purchasing advertising in E-Zines and looking at programs like "Postmasterdirect.com" can certainly help you.

You need to get beyond the "search engine" mentality because they are often broke or overwhelm the user. What you might do is promote through your signature. Create a nice email signature leading to your site and join discussion lists at egroups and topica that cater to your target audience. Some of these people will migrate to your site.

Another thing you might look into is partnerships with other ebook sites and offering a few more products that cater to different levels of expertise. This way you can get multiple sells out of a visitor and generate repeat visits. The problem with a site like yours is you get them once. If they don't purchase the first time, there is little or no chance they will return because it only offers one thing (the book). The trick is to offer them something to make them want to return and tell their friends about it.

Man, you have a really great thing going to get .60 per visitor!!

    Here's my formula.

Find how much PROFIT you get from each visitor. Be prepared to spend up to HALF of that to get visitors, but only if you absolutely have to!

Start with GoTo and get lots of keywords together. Do your very best to get at least 500. More if possible. If you need to spend a week doing nothing but this it will be worth it.

Begin finding out what you should bid for each keyword by searching them one by one. Be preapared to bid your maximum, but never go over. In most cases, you can bid much lower so it is worth it to research each word.

After submitting them all, start using the other pay-per clicks with these same words.

I was averaging .23 per click at Goto and was STILL able to get about 130 visitors per day from them with only 185 keywords! If YOU do this at the top five pay-per click engines with 500 keywords, you could easily get 1,000 visitors per day. Now you are really making money!

Just remember to ALWAYS set a maximum, and NEVER go over it, no matter the tempting reason to do so.
