    Can I add a "Counter"

Looking to post a page and want to see how many might download it. Is there a way I can do this easily?

    Hi Barnum,

There are a wealth of possibilities here.
Could you elaborate a little on what you are trying to do?
Do you want to track downloads of a file, or page views, or something else?
Is this counter just for you or should your visitors see it?
Is it just out of curiosity or are you trying to obtain some serious metrics about your site?
What technologies do you have at your disposal (PHP for example)?

    Hi,

There are many free scripts around that will give you a page counter (just google 'web page counters') but generally adding a page counter your site is considered pretty naff these days.

You should really have some analysis of your server statistics to measure page hits.
    Edit:

I see Pullo jumped in with a better answer while I was deliberating
