    Don't know what happens to it, very unstable. The CD-RW is not recognizable, yesterday I was still listening to CD.
    Oh, have to use the laptop as a backup now.

    Tried changing the IDE cable, master, slave,... did all kind of things! ****, so frustrated! It's a HP Pavilion.

    Any suggestion how to figure out what is going on? Have to stay inactive from SPF for a couple of days then!

    As far as I can judge from the description you gave, I should reinstall Windows.

    It would help a lot if you would provide us with some more information about his problem.

    My machine started acting whacky today also. Very annoying. I just uninstalled my antivirus software, shut down and restarted five or six times, and it started working OK.

    I'm formatting my whole comp some time today.

    My D drive is corrupted so I'm going to yank it out and just leave the C drive. Plus I can no longer shut down my comp because I get a rundll32 error.

    ::sigh:: Oh well.

    I believe the problem is mainly from the hardware. Haven't tried to touch it though!
