    curved text fields and drop down menus

    Hi all,

    i have a quick query - is it possible to create text fields / drop down menu's with curved edges - i.e rectangles with a corner radius. I am a designer and wish to achieve this effect, without using flash. The developer I am working with says no, but if i can show him an example he may be able to work it out. Any ideas? Another friend has said dhtml or xml? But can't give me an example...

    if youre good at dhtml you may get some ideas of thomas brattli's spotlight script..
    the way i see it you can make a regular menu and enlight just a circle of it when it drop downs. it should be possible, but if its worth it.. i dont know.
    but its an intresting idea. ive never thought about that kind of menu not made in flash...

    Or a standards-compliant alternate:

    Create a background image 150 pixels wide, of a curved textbox. Then use this CSS code:
    Code:
    input[type="text"] {
       width: 150px;
      /*replace [your image path] with your real path*/
       background-image: url('[your image path]');
       background-repeat: no-repeat;
       border: none;
       color: black;
    }
