    Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has a Compaq notepad? I was thinking of getting one because there in my price range and seem pritty good specs for a laptop. I know there are better specs but it should work fine for web design(Thats all I'd be using it for).

Also has anyone have any experience with buying coputers from:
    http://www.urbancomp.com ?

    Thanks,
    Justin Sampson

I highly recommend against any compaq computer.

Its comes with alot of bloatware. All those "one button internet access" buttons come preinstalled, and there are like 14 of them. And you need a separate program running at all times for each buttom. So that sucks up some of your ram.
And do you ever use them? No.

My parents have a compaq, its really IMO not a good computer. Go with dell or gateway or something.

I agree Compaq's products are not what they once were. I would not purchase anything from them.

Check out Dell's factory Outlet http://www.dell.com/us/en/dfh/default.htm

May cost you a little bit more but you will get a much better machine with better service and support.

I wouldn't buy a compaq either. I have a friend who works for MS, and he recommends against them also.

I'd go with Dell, IBM, or Micron--in that order.

    Ok!

Compaq is of my list! I like Dell notepad's and my friend has one and there very nice. The thing is that I live in Canada and we make about the same as Americans but thigs cost 35% more then in the US.

Most of Dells' notepads would be about $4300 plus tax!

I have a Dell and it is wonderful, although I agree they are expensive. I also have a Toshiba Satellite and I think they are excellent value for money.

For notebooks, I would recommend a Dell or Gateway, but I REALLY love IBM's Thinkpads...
