    Graphical Checkboxes/Radiobuttons

    Hi,

As i'm trying to find out how to get a graphical scrollbar to work, i decided that checkboxes and radio buttons shouldn't be the default, as css won't change their colours so does anyone know how to do these using images for Unchecked and Checked etc.

    I saw someone posted this
    http://www.dansteinman.com/dynapi/do...checkbox1.html

but it uses external files and i couldnt get it to work on my site even with those. If they have to be there thats no problem but is someone able to help me get them working on a seperate site or another route to achieve the same end result?

    Many thanks,

    K'

And you downloaded the latest version of DynAPI and "installed" on your server?
    http://sourceforge.net/projects/dynapi/

Extract the files in the zip file to some folder, e.g. c:\inetpub\wwwroot\
(if you're using IIS and that's your "wwwroot" folder )
    Open http://localhost/dynapi3x/docs/index.html in your browser
("Examples, Testing & Troubleshooting" is a good place to start)

Hmm, seems like these "widgets" are not included in DynAPI 3?
Try downloading the older http://www.dansteinman.com/downloads...i-19991024.zip, where the examples checkbox.js, radio.js and scroll.js are included

But... there must be someone out there that already has "upgraded" these widgets to use the latest version of DynAPI

A little "warning": If you use images instead of checkboxes etc, some users (with text only browsers for example) will see a less usable page

Anyone using text only browsers shouldn't be viewing a site thats made mainly with images

Anyway, who really uses text browsers!

ok then, here goes...how about users with disabilities ? users on a low bandwidth connection, preferring to browse with images turned off ? users with alternative browsing devices (some early PDAs, for instance) ?
normally, i'd go into a whole discussion on how it's important to keep your site accessible at least to a basic, functional level, for all users...how this can be achieved through the use of standards-compliant code etc...but somehow i feel i would be wasting my breath
