    Migrating Database between Macs

I am in the process of migrating everything from my old MacBook to my new MacBook Pro.

My environment is MAMP which includes phpMyAdmin and MySQL.

To migrate things over, can I simply go here...

    Code:
    macbook > Applications > MAMP > db > mysql
...and copy all of the Database Directories and paste them into the same location on my new MBP, or will that blow up MySQL?

    Sincerely,

    Debbie

If you have a TimeMachine backup, you can basically just click a button to have your new computer set up just like the old one was. Not everyone likes that, but it's an amazing option that's very convenient.

Valid point, but I don't want that.

I am building this new MBP from scratch, while obviously, migrating over most of my old data.

    Thanks!
