    I'm currently writing an application (in Perl) that interfaces with a database. The results of a query are sent to a multiple-select box. I need 4 columns to line up within the select box. The first column is not a problem, because the data is similar in length. However, the other columns vary in length (only by a few characters).

    The problem is that when the text appears in the box, the font is not evenly spaced, so I cannot format with "&nbsp" as a space. An example:

    505-FFIC-303 is 12 characters. So is 111-IIII-111. But they are different lengths (to the eye), and columns don't line up. Is it possible to choose which font is used within the select box?

    I think you need to use CSS to do this:
    Code:
    <style>
    SELECT {BACKGROUND-COLOR: #12345; COLOR: #12345; FONT-FAMILY: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; FONT-SIZE: 10px}
    </style>
    Hope that helps!
