CSS and table width

Is it possible to affect table/column width with an external style sheet that works in both ie and netscape 4.0?

Correct me if i'm wrong but i don't honestly think you can affect table widths using CSS - your best bet is to just use standard HTML to do it and copy / paste the code.

If you want it to be globally editable you could consider SSI for creating your tables.

Only IE and NetScape 6 applies CSS to tables. Since Netscape is not yet a shipping product your design would be lost on millions of users.
