EN to the rep system?

When giving rep I often forget to put my user ID in the comment field.

What about having a couple of radio buttons ("show my ID" selected by default) so that your ID will be shown, but if you want to turn it off you can?

Dunno about everyone else, but most of the time I've got no problem with giving non-anonymous feedback. I do have a problem with putting "hillsy" all the time though - especially on the "Let's give everyone loads of rep" thread

I think reputation is designed to be anonymous by default.

That's what I'm wondering though - should it be? I mean, most of the rep I get isn't anonymous anyway so maybe it could be easier for people if it automatically added their user ID. Of course you would need to be able to turn this off if you did want to give anonymous feedback.

It's not a big point anyway. Just a thought

There's a variety of opinions on this. I, for one, consider rep to be a form of anonymous feedback as opposed to simply posting or a private message which is never anonymous.

Compared to these other forms of feedback, the anonymous nature of rep is a feature.

I think it should... people that leave their user name, seem like they want something in return. I don't like that. I thought the rep was a great idea but when people start using it to return favors and for the heck of it, it loses its meaning and I bet people will start disregarding it.
