    I am looking for a frame script for searching the web...

    I am looking for a frame script for searching the web. A good example would be http://www.stpt.com/, if you conduct a search there, you will notice that a frame is launched everytime. I just wanted to know if someone may have or know where I could find a script like that.

    Izaak,

    I doubt anyone provides a script like that since it has no widespread use and could easily be made by whomever needs it. What you need to do is create a script in your available language that reads two query string variables, one for the search engine, one for the search term. Then the rest of the script will be the frames code with the lower frame set to the search URL.

    ASP Example:
    Code:
    <%

    strSearchTerm = Request.QueryString("Q")
    strEngine = Request.QueryString("Engine")

    If UCase(strEngine) = "GOOGLE" Then
        strSearchURL = "http://www.google.com/search?q=" & strSearchTerm
    End If

    %>
    <!-- html code here -->
    <frame src="topframe.htm"/>
    <frame src="<%=strSearchURL%>"/>
    <!-- html code here -->

    So if I were to use php instead of asp, would the script example you mentioned above, basically be the same or would I have to make some other modifications beyond how I would begin and end the script...

    BTW:
    I appreciate the example.

    Well the actual script would be in a different syntax, but the method would be the same. The code is basic enough that you could just translate the ASP line for line to PHP.
