Yup I'm actually trying it right now (I'd used it awhile back pre-2.0) locally and it seems to do what we want. Also the availability of a trackback plugin swayed my vote.

I use Nuclues on 4 sites right now and like it very much. And since it's GPL - if need be, it could be forked.

Jump: thanks but Glue seems to be a free blog hosting site - not a script per se.

Um, no it is a script. and it is available here.

The above was only an example of it's use. It's really a good blog and it uses templates. Users are able to choose themes and have there own home page. It is developed by the guy that is developing this cool site.

I will most likely choose that one for my site...which will start out as a tech based blog and i can put a link to our php- devoted blog...

so...which one?? Nucleus, Drupal, Movabletype wut?

I think based on a majority vote, Nucleus would be the one. Drupal seems a little overkill.

Well I'm not that certain actually. I've looked around and tried Drupal and Nucleus and my appraisal was that Drupal was more heavy-weight. Also, Nucleus does seem to have an easier plugin process.

Thanks Jump but I'm not certain we want to try Glue yet because it's still growing apparently and missing an active dev community that's apparent in Nucleus and Drupal. If you can show otherwise, I'm sure we'll be willing to take a 2nd look

Don't forget about b2, it's written in php and supports multiple authors, more customizable than MT (IMHO).
