    Multi-author PHP blog

Is anyone interested in contributing to a multi-author PHP blog? I'm toying with the idea of a multi-author PHP blog, and am looking for possible contributors. It would be good if someone could provide a full domain but in the meantime I'm looking at setting up a subdomain.

The blog would not-for-profit and all contributions are to be on a voluntary basis.

PM or email me if you're interested.

(Yes, if you've noticed, I'd also asked for authors for a Java Tips blog in the Java forum - I just thought to see the interest in the PHP corner.)

I would like to contribute too. I can register a domain for this, just let me know what name you would like to use.

Toly I can only provide a subdomain so if you can provide a full domain that would be great!

I'm thinking of garnering the collective knowledge and community of SPF to make this work. if you're interested, just buzz in!

Yes, I can provide a full domain. I'll just need a name for this domain to register it.

    All variations of blogs4coders are still available .. e.g. blogs4coders.com, blogs4coders.net, etc.

Indeed. So what would anyone "blog" about in relation to PHP? (Or any coding/scripting language for that matter).

I would be interested...it would make updating on a site w/ many "admins" or "moderators" easier

I could come up w/ some graphics...im still playing around w/ graphic design and I think this would be a fun project...I could also test it...

Are 3 off the top of my head. Actually, PHP's weblogging community is relatively weak compared to some other languages (Java, Python.)

I'm not too sure what the content should be, whether it should be specialised or general. I'm leaning towards a general PHP blog, but it would be good to hear everyone's opinions.

netkid: How would this make updating on a site easier? (Sorry I don't understand what you said )

My thoughts exactly - has anyone found a PHP blog listing sort of like java.blogs (post here)?

Ok...so there are some sites like I ran on this during my visits in internet: www.thehpn.com

This "Harry Potter" community hires many people to help organize the site, update, moderate...etc..

The multi-authoring would prolly make updating easier for the people...

    Some possible steps:

    1) login
    2) access update page
    3) updating
    - a form where they type in their update and post it

thats how I see it...but is this project...to make a multi author PHP blog program or to just start one...

    Oh you are mistaken

This is to start one, not to make one.

    Edit:

MovableType allows for multiple authors - it's written in Perl. I don't know about other blogs - you could ask in the Scripts and Online Services if you want to find one.

I fancy MovableType a lot, but it is not PHP - I don't mind, personally, but does anyone?

If you know of a PHP blog that has multi-authoring capabilities, do link to it here.

Drupal - may have a few too many features/be bloated depending on on your perspective.
