    Tech Community Creation

I have been running my site for about 3 years now, but I am having real difficulty in creating an active community. I realise the content is lacking up till now, but I am able to work on the site alot more from now onwards.

We get lots of registering members, but very little actually posting.

Do you have any advice specific to my site to try and build the community up?

    Thanks, Ian

It's actually very a very common issue that most members will not post - usually forums are given momentum by a small percentage of posters.

Create something interactive on your site - chatty threads are always popular (that's why "General chat" sections are usually the busiest on any forum).

You could also court controversy - this can draw members in, but also repel. If you use that tactic then play carefully.

If you have the time and imagination you could also create false members and have them chatting to each other, to help built up momentum.
