    Whats the rules on plugging?

Hi I have just created a software application for webdesigners (<-- Link Removed -->)

Is there anywhere on sitepoint you are allowed to post info on new products that would be off interest to members?

I don't want to be accussed of spamming, is there rules on pluggin yourself?

And yes I did email SitePoint about buying ad space as well, i am not that miserable I am waiting on Matt to get back to me.

    Thanks in advance.

They're very simple. You can't do it. Ever.

This ensures that people don't spam, and allows SP to make something of a revenue stream for what they offer (after first vetting the products to be advertised).

but - you can put a link in your signature with a URL to your product. You may also post an ad (1 per 30 days) in the ebargain bazzar. It may not be visable to you yet (I think you need a few posts before it becomes visable).

Thats seems fair. What about requests for beta testers, is that allowed?

I would imagine if you were offering something in return (eg free product), that the folks over at TheTradingPost would bite your hands off!

Thanks for your help. How do you put in a custom avatar? it only seems to let me select a predefined list?

You'll need 25 posts before you can upload a custom avatar, only 20 to go
