Well, what is it? Wireless, scrollmouse, trackball?

Since I'm using a scroll mouse (for two days now) I'm addicted to it

Never tried a trackball and wireless mouse, though.

    Hi,

I love my MS IntelliMouse Explorer and has been my favourite mouse ever since I got it (before I had that I had the old Intellimouse). I love the scroll bit and the way you can programme your extra buttons.

I think I would like a trackball mouse (as long as it is wireless) but I would still use my scroller most of the time.

I've tried trackball, wireless, optical, scroll, but still stick to scrollmouse.
Maybe optical+scroll is a good option!

I use a scrollmouse. I like being able to hold the mouse and move it, unlike trackball mice...

Intellimouse Explorer... my only complaint is that the laser leaves freckles on my desk after much use. Such is life.

Using a 2-button Logitech scroll mouse. USB connection, and it feels really smooth.

Not enough disposable income to try one of those newfangled optical mouses (mice?) though.

I am quite satisfied with my plain old Microsoft mouse with wheel. I wouldn't mind having a cordless mouse (I have used them before, very fun) but I plan on buying an Intellimouse Explorer in the near future.

One use and I was hooked to that thing...

    About those optical mouses/mice :

I've heard people complain about the fact that the sample rate isn't high enough, not even when you set it at maximum. This means that if you move the mouse too fast, it doesn't move at all on the screen.

This is especially noticable when you play games like Q3, UT, TFC etc. You're a sitting duck

I use a mouse full time, it's an extension of my hand and a major part of my job. I have sent at least 3 mice and 1 trackball to their death because I do a lot of graphic design that requires a very precise pointer. There's no room for a jumpy cursor. I started using a digitizer tablet about 7 years ago and there's nothing so accurate or precise. About 2 months ago I bought a Microsoft Optical mouse for my second computer, it's the next best thing to a digitizer tablet. I cannot recommend it enough if you're on a budget compared to the cost of a digitizer tablet.

    Go buy one, that's that.

I use a Microsoft IntelliMouse USB, it's nice and smooth and it looks good cos it's black, it has a scroll wheel as well which I can't live without.

I have an IntelliEye mouse on another PC as well, it's nice - real smooth action, scroll wheel, no clutter like the explorer and it was cheap (£12 - $18).

That is plain wrong. MS Intellimouse Optical mice scan surfaces 1500 times per second. There are problems if you are using a clear or patterned surface, but besides that MS Optical mice are great

The best thing about the MS Optical mice is the fact that they don't work on the display stands provided by MS, you see they are a mirror and quite thick so the light just goes miles off target.

MS got the mice right but made themselves look a bit daft with the display stands.

Has anyone tried a Logitech iFeel™ Optical Mouse?

Apparently they allow you to "feel" events within all Windows applications and on the web.

Imagine Windows crashing using one of them! Your desk would fall to bits!
