As I said here, what is up with the fluff filler threads about articles which were written years ago (in the case of that thread, almost 3 years ago, October 5th 2000)? Some of the links don't even resolve (no wonder when the article is 3 years old).
So what exactly is the motivation to post a thread to discuss an article that is nearly 3 years old, has broken links, and (IMHO) wasn't a good article to begin with?

See my post in that thread
It's part of the new article feedback system on sitepoint.com The threads are generated by an article reader providing feedback through the forums.
I see. Well, there may be a few bugs to be worked out. Sometimes automation doesn't work all that well. I'll just skip 'articlebot' threads, danke. Tried to add to ignore list, but that doesn't appear to work

There will only ever be one thread for each article. Because the system is only new, there are lots of them popping up all over the place because most articles don't yet have a thread associated with them. Eventually, the problem will die down as threads will only pop up for new articles.
