I posted a list of questions in the Server forum but no one notice them , so I hope I could get the answer in this forum and also by breaking the questions into smaller pieces

The graphical interfaces of KDE and Gnome are really cool.
However, why it's so big? where could I change the resolution in KDE/Gnome or command line.
I tried to find the place to resize the screen (resolution/color depth), but couldn't find!
Tried Xconfigurator, but didn't seem to work.

Have you tried posting this question in the Software Help Desk Forum? You might have luck there. Better yet, why not just visit a forum that specifically deals with Linux and KDE and Gnome?

Thanks for pointing out that, I thought nobody wants to answer my question
So do you suggest any good Linux forums/resources for beginners?

ok, exit X, and do(as root):

    XF86Setup

and fallow onscreen options. (Choose No for first, if never did before)
Find good match for your video card. and set monitor resolution and type. then ok... test...ok...ok...done.
then start X server. (with startx usually).
    Good luck!

    Thanks a lot java,
I've had a chance to try it but I'll do soon.
Do you have any recommended resource for a Linux newbie?
