I do a lot more reading than posting around here, so I often come across unappropriate posts before a mod/admin has a chance to see them.

By unappropriate I mean: spam, advertising, and violations of guidelines in some of the forums.

Should I be clicking the "Report this Post to a moderator" button?

I have done so in the past, but Im not sure if the mods find it helpful or annoying

Yes please!

It helps us alot if other members are aware of the guidelines and report posts that go against them.
