Dave,

The policy has been 3 days since this whole thing started. Most people know and understand this. Again, I ask, give me precedent...not just what you want. Show me a successful site that uses your model and give us an example to follow. Otherwise we'd be simnply making changes for you personal enjoyment and we don't operate like that. Give us an example of a successful site that does not use a queue...something we can model.

p.s. I don't care if people "read" the rules or not but when they sign up they agree to abide by them....so, read them or not, the rules are the rules and failure to operate within them results in "other" actions...

The 2-4 weeks mark is what I honestly think it would take for it to gain some momentum: spam momentum. We'll see though.

The forum/message board is kind of unorganized, but some of the most creative people use this site to post info - AND ask for critiques (totally unmoderated, and VERY popular - gets about 20million page views per month)

The online version of HOW magazine (a graphic design magazine). Again, no posting rules, lots of creative people - TONS of smart responses when you post something

AIGA is a large graphic arts association. Their forum is horribly implemented, but there's some great dialog with little to no spam.

A great typeface design forum. Obviously there's not spam (people trying to drive traffic to their site), but it's a well implemented forum with a supurb community

Seems like a lot of beginners use this site, it's not as popular, but unmoderated, and works fine.

What all these forums lack is nice, clean message board software. With VBullitin, SitePoint could easily have an advantage if the community had a little more momentem.

I did my best to provide good reviews to 7 sites, and then posted my request for my review. My request went unanswered. I'd love to know why.

moderated forums just don't work... test this out:

(1) go to http://www.newstoday.com
(2) Register, and ask for a site critique in the "PV-AN (Public Voice)" section.

I bet within minutes, you'll have a couple short, but smart responses from the design community...
