Ok, I just have a quick question. I currently have Win95 on my computer with three 2GB partitions setup. What I want to do is format the entire hard drive and re-install windows. Will I have to worry about the partitions "going away" so that I'd have to re-partition them?
Formatting a drive will not remove the partitions on it. You need to remove those with a utility called FDisk. Your partitions are safe unless you use that utility.
If you find FDISK confusing, you should try other programs. Many new hard drives come with formatting and partitioning software, and I am pretty sure you'd be able to download some from the Internet as well.
If this post is not too late, if you're looking to reinstall Windows 95, all you need is to Reformat the C: drive partition. Then reinstall programs from the other partitions as required since not all of them will need to be reinstalled. i.e. Netscape, most small Utility programs, etc.
