    Question PHP ecard and payments.

    Hi,

I have been approached by a local greetings card company about building a website. I was wondering if there are any existing 'ecard' PHP scripts out there for free, or cheap that are any good?

Also they are considering adding a members area.

Having never mucked around with credit cards online I thought that they could either sell 'individual' products through some e shopping cart thingy or you could subsribe for a certain amount per month.

The second sounds easier to me. I was just wondering how easy is it to integrate online payments with setting up users and such stuff in a database.

    Thanks

    Hi,
A quick search at Freshmeat.net turned up this.

    http://www.sendcard.org/

I don't have any experience with it but it looks pretty robust.

Also, not sure if I get the second part but here are some suggestions going at it blindly. Do they already accept credit cards? If so, check with their Merchant Provider who can suggest online processors such as Verisign, etc. If not, you could go the pay-pal route or one of the other online processors.

Also, if your looking for a good PHP e-commerce solution I would suggest http://www.oscommerce.com. It has a ton of modules and is also free. It uses a MySQL database.

    Hope that helps!
