Overflowing DIV? can I make it scroll?

Is there a way to make a Div Tag have a little scroller (so you can scroll down it like a frame) when the contents go past its bourndaries ?

I have an image I sliced and put in a table. The center image has been replace with a td full of text. The above method works everywhere except NS4.5 (and under). Is there any way to force NS to use the overflow?

no, not really. I believe Netscape Navigator 4.x will only add a scrollbar to frames.

The support for scrolling divs is abysmal, really. I'f avoid relying on it for the near future.

I'd say that most Opera users are using Opera7.x ( based on the improvements, who wouldnt want the upgrade and no commants from those Opera haters out there! )

I was specifically targeting an IE audience to begin with, so in my case the issues are minor. but for an international web service I can see the problem

Can you tell me where else they don't work beyond NN4 and Opera <7?

They are fine in my copy of Moz 1.1, IE 6 (tested in 5 too) and Opera 7. They are my main target browsers.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't scroll a div though
