    Mass Email Questions!

    Hello,

I have a few questions. Right now on Amazon auctions there are books being auctioned off that are supposed to teach you how to mass email without getting "reprimanded". Does anybody mass email and if so how do they do it legally? Also what is the best lost-cost or free software to bulk mail. I have some opt-in emails to send to but does anybody have any resources to get low-cost targeted (or not) emails?

Please let me know asap as I am in a real rush.

    Thanks!

When you send an email to a lot of people that have requested it that's a "Mass Email." When you send an email to a lot of people that _havent_ requested it, targeted or untargeted, that's spam.

Spam isn't illegal, it just (usually) against the terms of service of your email provider. The complaints that will result from spamming should get you kicked off faster than you can press "send" a second time.

I have no idea what the books that you mention are suggesting, but opt-in email lists and emails from people requesting info are the only methods that I would ever consider sending bulk emails to.

I use Topica.com for my mass emailings.

Look for a legitimate, ethical way of advertising! You don't want numbers you want buyers! Look for methods on a "quality-based" model - you provide your potential customers quality, they provide profit.

    Good luck!

    Maybe I misinterpreted your message.

I thought "I have never been caught out doing it like that" meant the message was to prevent people from actually knowing the email was unsolicited.

Certainly "unsubscribe" options don't make receiving spam any more enjoyable (not to mention that spammers usually use this technique to verify if the email address is a valid one)

Again, if I have misunderstood my appologies.

To me, if someone say that I received a message because I chose so, I don't really remember where/when/how I gave out the email address, so just try to unsubscribe, and not sending complaint.
But I did with some other spammers, which are non-professional at all.
