    I'm looking for a javascript (or any other type) that opens a popup when the cursor is pointed to a link (not clicked). When the cursor is moved away from the link then the popup disappears. I've been looking all over to find this script. Can anyone be of some assistance? Your time is appreciated. Thank you.

    you want overlib my friend.

    Its fully customizeable. Easy to use and set up etc.

    And just for future reference, Javascript is client side scripting, best fit in that category.

    Hi Noble,

    And welcome to the forum that points to the site

    Although I didn't follow the url, aspen's overlib is probably uses onMouseover/out event handlers. They are extremely easy to use. An example:

    <a href="javascript:void()" onMouseover="openWin(1)" onMouseout="openWin(0)"><img src="pic1.gif"></a>

    function openWin(openIt)
    {
    if (openIt)
    newWin = window.open("myPopUp.html",...blah..."
    else
    newWin.close();
    }

    In the above example:
    1) The window is opened when the mouse hovers over the image (onMouseover) and closes when it leaves (onMouseout).
    2) Each event handler calls the same function (openWin) with a boolean parameter (true/false, 1/0).
    3) The 'javascript:void()' prevents the onClick event handler from doing anything.
    4) The function checks the passed boolean argument (openIt) and either opens or closes the window.

    Hope this helps. If not, let me know. If yes, have fun.

    When I posted the topic I was looking for that script that Vincent put in but once I check out aspen's suggestion, I realized that his overlib method was perfect for what I was looking for. Thanks everyone for your help. I am really enjoying Site Point's forums.
