Does any one here use Active Desktop for your computer that is from a site? If so, why? And, what site?

I don't use it simply because it slows down my computer and some are annoying...

PS: Moderators, I didn't know where this really belonged, so I decided this would be an OK place... move it if you want.

I don't use it either. It totally screwed up my Dad's computer, and I got to fix it.

First thing I did after installing IE4 when back when was to turn Active Desktop off, and it has stayed off.

I have Active Desktop turned on with my PC's...

    Mainly for two reasons,

I can remove all Icons with TweakUI or some other registry whacker.
I can use GIF's and JPEG's for backgrounds without converting them to space hogging .BliMP's
Other than that, I don't put channel's or webpages on the desktop because they slow down the machine and mess up the view of my before mentioned graphics which I have about a hundred or so of from Digital Blasphemy

Nothing better than leaving your workstation with a clean desktop and a beautiful graphic at the end of the day.

Well maybe somethings but not suitable topics for here

Wayne, I'm a Digital Blasphemy fan, too.

And speaking of TweakUI, where can I get it? I tried from Download.com/HotFiles.com I believe and when it downloaded to my desktop, it didn't work when I clicked the icon. I wasn't able to install it or anything.

It's on the Win98 CD if you have it. I forget the path to it, but once you find it, you are supposed to right-click it and choose "Install".
